La Baronía

La Baronía is an association of nine municipalities in the Valencia Region that work together around the Sierra Calderona mountain range and the lower Palancia River valley. The group organizes shared services including street cleaning, waste management, and social assistance for all residents across its member towns.

The territory was traditionally divided into three historical areas known as Baronia Alta, Baronia Mitjana, and Baronia Baixa, each containing separate groups of municipalities. Over time these distinct administrative zones merged into a modern association designed to address shared challenges across all member communities.

The member municipalities host regional educational fairs and exhibitions that showcase local talent and crafts, bringing residents together to celebrate community traditions. These gatherings serve as gathering points where people share the character and heritage of their small towns.

The association operates as a coordinating structure that allows the nine municipalities to share resources and services more efficiently. Residents and visitors can access local services and offerings through each individual municipality, which are tailored to serve smaller communities.

Leadership of the association rotates among the participating municipalities, with each town's mayor taking a turn as president to guide administrative operations. This rotating system ensures that smaller communities have equal voice in the decisions affecting the entire association.
