Iglesia del Divino Salvador, Baroque Catholic church in central Seville, Spain.
The Iglesia del Divino Salvador is a Baroque temple that occupies one side of Plaza del Salvador in Seville's historic center. The building holds several side chapels, elaborate carved altarpieces, and a monumental facade in red brick and pale stone.
The building was raised from 1679 onwards by architect Leonardo de Figueroa atop the remains of an earlier mosque. Work continued for several decades and shaped one of the largest parish temples in the city.
The interior contains an 18th-century Baroque organ and numerous religious artworks that demonstrate the evolution of Spanish Catholic artistry through centuries.
A combined ticket for the temple and the Cathedral with the Giralda can be purchased at the entrance. Access is through Plaza del Salvador, where visitors often encounter a short wait during busy hours.
The Patio de los Naranjos preserves orange trees and wall fragments from the mosque that once stood on this spot. Parts of the old minaret base were integrated into the structure of the present tower.
