Revillagigedo Palace

Revillagigedo Palace is a Baroque structure in Gijón's Cimadevilla quarter featuring two crenellated towers connected by a central wing. Inside, the building combines spacious galleries for exhibitions with smaller windows set into carefully worked stone walls.

The building was constructed in 1704 for Carlos Miguel Ramírez de Jove, Marquis of San Esteban del Mar del Natahoyo, while incorporating a medieval tower on its western side. This blend of older and newer elements shows how the city transformed from medieval times into the Baroque period.

The palace served as the family residence of the Revillagigedo nobility and continues to shape the identity of the Cimadevilla neighborhood today. People come here for art shows and cultural events that bring activity to this historic quarter.

The building is located at Plaza del Marqués 2 in an easily accessible area of the old town where you will also find the Barjola Museum and the Campo Valdés Roman Baths nearby. Plan to check ahead as the site opens mainly for special exhibitions and hours can change seasonally.
