Paseo de la Fama de Madrid, Entertainment walkway in Argüelles district, Madrid, Spain
The Madrid Walk of Fame is a walkway along Avenida Martin de los Heros featuring stars made of granite, marble, and steel honoring Spanish cinema figures. The stars line this street with plaques from the Spanish Film Academy and National Lottery positioned above each name.
The walkway opened in June 2011 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Spanish Film Academy. Initially, 25 stars were installed to recognize prominent actors and directors.
The stars honor Spanish film professionals like Pedro Almodóvar, Penélope Cruz, and Antonio Banderas for their contributions to national cinema. When you walk along the street, you see their names alongside the recognition from the Spanish film industry.
The walkway sits near the Renoir and Golem cinemas and connects to Plaza Espana. You can view the stars at any time of day and combine your visit with these cinemas, which show original language films throughout the year.
Designer Oscar Mariné created each star with specific materials, showing careful craftsmanship in every detail. The sponsor plaques above each star identify the institutions that supported the tributes.
