Playa de Monteblanco is a sandy beach located in La Manga del Mar Menor with a gently sloping shoreline of pale sand mixed with pebbles. Multiple access routes from the main road lead directly to the water, making entry straightforward for visitors arriving by car or foot.

The beach remained largely undeveloped until La Manga emerged as a resort destination during the 1960s. This growth brought visitor facilities and services while the shoreline itself retained its natural appearance.

Monteblanco takes its name from the pale sand that gives the beach its whitish tone, a contrast with the darker volcanic and rocky stretches of La Manga. Bathers reach it from the landward side of the strip, between the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor, and the name is used locally to tell it apart from the neighbouring beaches of the same spit.

Lifeguards are stationed at this beach and parking is available near the main road entrances. Visitors should plan their visit during warmer months when water conditions are more comfortable for swimming.

Monteblanco lies on the Mediterranean shore of La Manga del Mar Menor, the 22-kilometre sandbar that separates the Mar Menor lagoon from the open sea, in the municipality of Cartagena. Bathers stand between two bodies of water with very different temperatures and salinity.
