Teatros del Canal, performing arts centre in Chamberí, Madrid, Spain

Teatros del Canal is a performing arts complex of over 35,000 square metres designed by architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg, opened in 2009 at the junction of Bravo Murillo and Cea Bermúdez streets. It holds the Sala Roja, with 863 seats and a 32 by 17 metre stage, the reconfigurable Sala Verde, and the smaller Sala Negra, opened in the 2014-15 season above the Sala Roja seating.

The center was built on the site of a former water infrastructure facility and opened in 2009 as a new cultural institution for the city. The transformation of this industrial space into an arts venue was part of Madrid's early 21st-century urban development.

The venue takes its name from the former Isabel II water channel that once ran through the site. Today, visitors experience dance performances, classical opera, and contemporary works presented throughout the year within its spaces.

The Sala Negra, opened in the 2014-15 season with 180 seats, sits directly above the seating area of the Sala Roja. The Centro Danza Canal has nine double- or triple-height studios of 5 to 9 metres, and hosts the resident Víctor Ullate Ballet-Comunidad de Madrid.
