Pic de Salòria

Pic de Salòria is a mountain summit in Alt Pirineu Natural Park located in the eastern Pyrenees at approximately 2,800 meters elevation. The peak rises distinctly from its surroundings and displays the sandstone composition typical of this mountain region.

The mountain served over generations as a geographic reference point between different valleys in the Catalonian Pyrenees. The peak guided local communities in establishing territorial boundaries across this mountain region.

Local mountaineering groups organize annual expeditions to Pic de Salòria, maintaining traditional climbing routes and documenting the changes in the landscape.

Multiple hiking routes begin from the Bosc de la Mata trailhead and lead toward the summit, with summer months providing the best conditions for the climb. The extended daylight hours during this season make the ascent safer and more comfortable.

The mountain has a topographic isolation of about 9 kilometers, making it stand out distinctly from neighboring peaks. This characteristic makes it an easily recognizable reference point across the mountain landscape.
