Iglesia de Santa María de la Asunción, Gothic parish church in Bujalance, Spain
The Church of Santa María de la Asunción stretches 53 meters in length and 22 meters in width, featuring three naves separated by pointed arches.
Construction of the church began in 1500 and continued until 1590, later receiving recognition as an Asset of Cultural Interest in June 1982.
The main altarpiece, dating from the 16th century and attributed to Guillermo de Orta and Andrés de Castillejo, stands as one of Córdoba province's oldest.
The church maintains regular religious services and stands in front of Plaza de Santa Ana, also known locally as Paseo Viejo.
The church tower, completed in 1788 after 177 years of construction, rises 55 meters and leans one and a half meters from vertical.
