Passeig de Lluís Companys, Barcelona, Pedestrian promenade in Barcelona, Spain.
The Passeig de Lluís Companys connects the Arc de Triomf to Parc de la Ciutadella through a tree-lined pathway with wide walking areas and benches.
The promenade, originally named Salón de San Juan, received its current name in 1979 to honor President Lluís Companys, who was executed in 1940.
Eight sculptures representing important Catalan historical figures were installed along the promenade in 1883 for the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition.
The area is accessible via Arc de Triomf metro station on Line 1 and multiple bus routes, including lines 39 and 40 connecting different parts of Barcelona.
The Tribunal Superior de Justícia de Catalunya building on the promenade displays an eclectic architectural style designed by Enric Sagnier and Josep Domènech Estapà.
