The settlement originated in the eleventh century, while the current defensive stone walls surrounding the village were constructed during the thirteenth century.
The village center features a traditional communal bread oven and a water collection cistern that served the entire community for centuries.
Visitors can access the village through its single entrance gateway, which remains the only point of entry into this elevated fortified settlement.
The village maintains its original medieval layout at 602 meters elevation, with eighteen permanent residents preserving the historical character of the settlement.
