Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari, Medieval church in Madrigal de las Altas Torres, Spain.

Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari is a church with three naves and a rectangular apse, marked by Gothic and Renaissance architectural features. A prominent brick tower of approximately 50 meters rises from the structure and defines its skyline presence.

This building was constructed in the 13th century and underwent major reworking during the 15th century that added new architectural elements. Those modifications shaped the character we see today and reflected changing building practices of that era.

This church sits at the heart of the town square and serves as a gathering point for local life. Its construction reflects how regional building traditions and religious practice merged in this part of Spain.

The building stands on Plaza de San Nicolás in the town center and is easily reached on foot. Access is limited to Easter Week and summer months, so checking opening information beforehand helps plan your visit.

The interior contains intricately crafted coffered ceilings from the 16th century made in traditional Mudéjar technique. A complete restoration of these ceiling elements was finished in 2004 and brought back their original detail.
