Santaurio da Virxe das Ermidas

The Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Hermitages is a pilgrimage church set in a valley shaped by the Bibei River, with decorative architectural details and bishops' coats of arms visible throughout. The structure displays religious and ornamental elements that reflect its spiritual importance.

Construction of the current sanctuary began in 1624 following a bishop's recovery attributed to the Virgin's intervention. This event led to the establishment of the pilgrimage site in this location.

The sanctuary holds a Via Crucis path with fourteen chapels displaying carved figures from the 18th century. These sculptures depict religious scenes that visitors encounter as they walk the route.

The site sits in a quiet valley and is easy to explore, with the Via Crucis accessible on foot. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes as the path crosses uneven ground.

A river beach developed between two mills, with one mill remarkably built among rocks and featuring a stone slab roof. This construction shows the ingenious building methods used in earlier times at this location.
