Parque de Atracciones de Vizcaya, Amusement park in Galdakao, Spain.
The park was a recreational facility on Mount Ganguren featuring around 30 rides, distinctive pyramidal structures, and a large amphitheater. The grounds covered 10 hectares and offered various entertainment options across the hillside.
The park opened in 1974 as a joint venture between the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and private partners, welcoming nearly 450,000 visitors in its first year. It remained a significant destination for families and entertainment seekers in the Basque region.
The amphitheater served as a major venue for concerts and live performances that drew crowds from across the region. Visitors came not only for the rides but also to experience popular musicians and entertainers from Spain.
The location was accessible by public transport from Bilbao and convenient for day trips. The site was built on sloped terrain, so visitors needed to be prepared for inclines and elevation changes throughout the grounds.
The distinctive metal pyramids were visible from neighboring communities and shaped the landscape for decades. These striking structures finally disappeared in 2018 when the Provincial Council demolished the entire site.
