Berlin Park, Urban park in Ciudad Jardín, Madrid, Spain.
Berlin Park is a green space in Ciudad Jardín, Madrid, bordered by San Ernesto, Marcenado, Ramón y Cajal Avenue, and Doctor Marco Corera streets. The area contains walking paths, recreational zones, and landscaped grounds.
The area was inaugurated on November 9, 1967, by Madrid's Mayor Carlos Arias Navarro, with the German Ambassador Helmut Allard and Berlin officials attending. The name choice honors Berlin's importance in European history.
The park holds a sculpture of a bear, which symbolizes Berlin, and a monument to Beethoven showing his head above a granite piano. These artworks reflect the connection between Madrid and Berlin.
The grounds offer playgrounds, sports facilities, and a botanical path featuring different tree species. An outdoor auditorium is available for musical performances.
Three original pieces of the Berlin Wall stand in a fountain at the park's lower section, installed in 1990. These fragments mark a memorial to German reunification.
