Santuario de Santa Gema

The Santuario de Santa Gema is a Catholic shrine in El Viso featuring red brick construction and a distinctive octagonal dome. The structure sits facing Santa Gema Plaza near Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and contains multiple prayer spaces alongside residential quarters and a convent.

The shrine was built in 1949 and consecrated on 17 October 1953 by architects Manuel Ambrós Escanellas and Joaquín Núñez Mesa. The Passionist Fathers established their community here in 1959 and continue to manage the complex.

The shrine honors Saint Gemma Galgani through prayer and religious observance, drawing local devotees who gather here regularly. The space reflects how this community expresses its faith through regular visits and rituals.
