Chera-Sot de Chera Natural Park

Chera-Sot de Chera Natural Park is a protected area stretching across two municipalities with deep gorges, steep mountain slopes, fertile valleys, and peaks reaching 1,100 meters. The landscape is carved by rivers and streams, particularly the Sot river that flows through the lower elevations.

The park was established in 2007 as the first geological protected area in Valencia Region, marking an important milestone for conservation in the area. This designation recognized the exceptional geological features of the site and its scientific value.

The communities of Chera and Sot de Chera continue to farm olives using methods passed down through generations, creating a landscape shaped by rural tradition. Walking through the area, you see how agriculture remains woven into the rhythm of daily life here.

The park offers several hiking trails leading to reservoirs, river valleys, and caves, with parking areas and visitor information centers throughout the site. Bring sturdy shoes and plenty of water, as the terrain is mountainous and can be challenging in places.
