Montpedrós

Montpedrós is a mountain that rises between Sant Vicenç dels Horts and Santa Coloma de Cervelló, with slopes formed from quartzite and slate rock. The peak stands roughly 348 meters above sea level and is surrounded by forest that offers natural trails for exploration.

The mountain shows traces of ancient Iberian settlements from the 10th century, when stone walls were still visible at its peak. These early settlement marks suggest the site held strategic importance in the region for centuries.

The chapel of Saint Anthony at the peak serves as a meeting point where locals gather for celebrations and outdoor meals. The setting has a simple, open character that invites people to linger and connect with others.

The mountain can be reached via several marked forest trails that connect from neighboring towns. Parking is available near the Cesalpina restaurant, which serves as a convenient starting point for most visitors.

The mountain contains the Pedra Gravada, stone carvings created by artist Francesc Punsola in the 1990s that draw on Atlantic megalithic elements. These artworks sit at the summit and form a surprising link between ancient inspiration and modern creativity.
