Xalet del Catllaràs, Mountain hut and cultural asset in La Pobla de Lillet, Spain
The Xalet del Catllaràs stands at 1371 meters elevation, featuring a rectangular layout with a ground floor, first floor, and attic covered by a catenary vault.
Built between 1901 and 1903 by the Asland Company, the building served as residence for English engineers who managed the local coal mining operations.
The structure represents Catalan modernism architecture through its mansard windows, inclined visors, and the integration of local materials in its construction methods.
The mountain hut provides accommodation facilities and serves as a starting point for numerous hiking trails across the Serra del Catllaràs mountain range.
Antoni Gaudí designed this mountain retreat for industrialist Eusebi Güell, incorporating six separate living quarters connected by a central staircase.
