BARTS

BARTS is a performance and movie venue in El Raval with a main room that adapts to either 900 seats or 1,500 standing positions for different types of shows. Two additional screening spaces of varying sizes allow for simultaneous programming of theater, concerts, and film presentations.

The building occupies the site of the Gran Teatro Espanol, which opened in 1909 and hosted French vaudeville and operetta performances. It later became Studio 54 before transforming into its current form as a modern cultural venue.

The name BARTS stands for Barcelona Audiovisual Resources and Technology Space, reflecting its role as a hub where theater and cinema coexist and complement each other. Visitors experience how both art forms share the same building and audience.

The venue is located at Avenida Paral·lel 62 and is accessible via Paral·lel metro station, served by lines L2 and L3 of Barcelona's network. The central location in El Raval makes it easy to explore the neighborhood before or after an event.
