Bagergue, Mountain settlement in Naut Aran, Spain.
Bagergue is a mountain settlement at approximately 1,424 meters in the Pyrenees, situated within the Naut Aran area. The village spreads across steep slopes with traditional stone houses and slate roofs that nestle closely into the landscape.
The village became part of Naut Aran municipality in 1967 following a merger with neighboring settlements including Arties, Salardú, Gessa, and Tredòs. This consolidation shaped the region's current administrative framework.
The stone houses with slate roofs define the village character and show how residents of the Aran Valley have traditionally adapted to mountain living. The narrow, winding streets reflect a way of life that has remained largely unchanged across generations.
The location connects to other parts of the region through the C-28 road and remains easily accessible from surrounding settlements. Visiting is possible year-round, though winter days at this elevation can be colder and more challenging.
The village maintains its autonomy as a decentralized municipal entity within the larger Naut Aran administration. This is a rare example of how small mountain communities have preserved their own identity while remaining administratively unified.
