Casa Garriga Nogués, Modernist residential building in Dreta de l'Eixample, Spain

Casa Garriga Nogués is a modernist residential building in Dreta de l'Eixample in Barcelona with a five-story facade combining classical and baroque elements. The main balcony on the first floor is supported by four sculptured columns, and the interior features marble staircases and decorative glass windows crafted by skilled artisans.

The building was commissioned by the Garriga Nogués family in 1904 and initially served as their family residence. After 1936, it changed purposes several times and now houses cultural institutions.

The house merges everyday living with artistic craftsmanship, visible in its marble staircases and colored glass windows by Antoni Rigalt. These details show how modernist designers transformed residential spaces into works of art.

The building is located at Diputació 250 in central Barcelona and is easily accessible by public transport. Visitors can typically view it from the street or enter during special cultural events and exhibitions.

The four stone corbels on the facade were sculpted by Eusebi Arnau and depict female figures representing different stages of human life. These carved female forms are not merely decorative but actually bear the weight of the balcony.
