Masía d'en Cabanyes, Neoclassical masia in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain.
Masía d'en Cabanyes is a country house built in neoclassical style, featuring symmetrical proportions, refined facades, and columns. The structure reflects late 18th-century Catalonian architectural principles and now serves as a museum open to visitors.
The property was built in 1798 as a residential country house and later became the home of Manuel de Cabanyes, a Romantic poet. His literary contributions shaped Catalonian culture and gave the residence significance as a center of artistic activity.
The house preserves a collection of twelve engravings from Francisco de Goya's Disparates series, brought here by painter Joaquim de Cabanyes. These works reveal artistic connections between Catalonia and the Spanish art world of the 18th century.
The museum can be explored independently or through guided tours, depending on your preference and available time. Its location outside the town center means that a car or public transportation is recommended for visiting the property.
About 250 meters north of the house stands a large pine tree called Pi Gros, which has lived for between 250 and 300 years. This tree grows beside the Parellada stream and silently marks the natural history of the surrounding landscape.
