Sant Miquel de Castelló

The church building features a single nave covered by a barrel vault and contains small stone blocks joined with lime mortar in uniform rows.

The church served as a chapel for the viscounts of Bas castle, with the first documented mentions of the fortress dating back to the 11th century.

Sant Miquel de Castelló received recognition as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest on January 23, 2009, preserving its architectural heritage for future generations.

Since 1974, the building functions as a mountain refuge managed by the Girona Sports and Hiking Group, accommodating up to 20 people for overnight stays.

The bell tower with a single opening stands as the only element identifying the structure as a church, rising prominently above the building's roofline.
