Viaduto de Pontevedra, Redondela, Railway viaduct in Redondela, Spain
The metal railway viaduct extends across 250 meters in length and stands 3 meters wide, crossing over the Alvedosa River in Redondela.
Engineer Mariano Carderera y Ponzán completed the construction of this transportation infrastructure in 1884, eight years after the Madrid viaduct.
The viaduct forms part of the Portuguese Route of the Way of St. James, marking a passage point for travelers on their pilgrimage journey.
The structure carried trains on the Vigo-A Coruña line until the early 21st century, when operations moved to the new high-speed Atlantic axis.
This railway bridge represents one of two parallel viaducts crossing through central Redondela, alongside the Madrid viaduct.
