Almería Walk of Fame

The Almería Walk of Fame is a monument featuring bronze stars embedded in the sidewalk of Calle Poeta Villaespesa next to Teatro Cervantes. Each star displays the name, signature, and handprint of the honored artist to create a lasting tribute.

The city established this monument in 2012 to recognize actors and directors who contributed to films shot in the Almería region. The project honors the city's long connection to film production and its importance in Spanish cinema.

The stars honor international film figures who shot movies in Almería, including Omar Sharif, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sophia Loren. They celebrate the connection these artists have to the city and their role in the region's cinema history.

The monument is accessible to visitors year-round and sits on a busy street in the city center. Visitors can stroll along Calle Poeta Villaespesa during daytime hours to view the stars and examine the handprints from different angles.

Many visitors overlook that the handprints in the stars were placed by the artists themselves when they visited the city. These personal contact points make each star an intimate record of the direct connection between filmmakers and Almería.
