The name Lo Parot stems from local folklore, potentially derived from the word 'father,' as locals consider it the father of all olive trees.
Visitors can reach Lo Parot by taking the T-334 road toward Bot and Gandesa, then turning right after half a kilometer onto a path lined with olive groves.
The tree produces olives with a distinct genetic variety, featuring longer leaves and fruits compared to the common empeltre variety of the Terra Alta region.
