Mare de Déu del Vinyet, Neoclassical sanctuary in Sitges, Spain.
The Mare de Déu del Vinyet contains murals painted in 1919 by local artist Agustí Ferrer Pino within its central dome and walls.
The construction of this religious structure began in 1727, featuring a 40-centimeter statue of the Virgin that was discovered beneath vines in the surrounding fields.
The sanctuary holds a central role in Sitges' celebrations on August 5th, with traditional Catalan circle dances and local festivities throughout the day.
The sanctuary maintains specific seasonal hours, operating from 11:00 to 17:30 in winter and 11:00 to 13:00 plus 16:30 to 19:00 in summer.
The building contains 18 restored stages of the Passion, made possible through a donation from Rosa Plà in 1997.
