Font de les Tres Gràcies

Fuente de las Tres Gracias is an iron fountain in Plaça Reial featuring three female statues surrounded by a circular pool with six water-spouting masks. The figures rise on multiple levels, forming the centerpiece where visitors regularly gather.

A French artist created this fountain in the 19th century based on a design inspired by classical sculptures. The work reached its permanent location in Barcelona several years after its creation, becoming a notable landmark of the square.

The three female figures represent classical muses and draw conceptually from French artistic traditions. Visitors see statues posed in a classical dance, creating a living connection to 16th-century art history.

The fountain sits in the center of the square and is surrounded by arcades and historic buildings that provide shade. Visitors should know this is an active public space, especially in evenings or on weekends when the square fills with people.
