Casa consistorial de Albacete, City hall building in central Albacete, Spain.
The Casa consistorial de Albacete is located on Cathedral Square and features a classical design built from light-colored Salamanca stone with a striking clock on its exterior wall. The eight-story structure contains government offices, a library on the lower level, and two basement floors that serve additional administrative purposes.
The city hall opened in 1986 as the fourth location for Albacete's municipal government after it had occupied three previous sites. Earlier administrative centers were located at Villacerrada, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza del Altozano.
The ground floor contains the Albacete Auditorium, which accommodates 600 people and serves as a central venue for municipal events and performances.
The building sits centrally on Cathedral Square and is easy to reach on foot from the surrounding streets. Visitors should explore the area during business hours when public sections are open to the public.
A grand staircase connects visitors to a columned central courtyard that opens into the council chamber at its heart. The mayor's office occupies the first floor overlooking this central space.
