Vapor Nou, Industrial heritage site in Rubí, Spain
The cylindrical brick chimney of Vapor Nou stands as the last remaining element of this textile mill at Plaça del Poble Romaní in Rubí.
Established in 1839, Vapor Nou emerged as the second textile mill in the district, following Vapor Vilaregut, and operated with 25 mechanical looms for production.
The textile factory employed 800 workers from the local community, contributing to the industrial development and economic growth of the Catalonian region.
Visitors can locate the preserved chimney at Passeig Riera 71-79, where it serves as a reference point for understanding the industrial evolution of Rubí.
This Cultural Asset of Local Interest represents the only surviving industrial chimney from the textile manufacturing period in the entire district.
