Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Bilbao

The Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen features a pyramidal structure topped with a large cross, expressing contemporary architectural elements in its design.

Following a land donation by the Allende-Plágaro brothers in 1907, the initial chapel was constructed in 1911 under the direction of architect Leonardo Rucabado.

The church serves as a central religious institution for 15,000 parishioners, maintaining Catholic traditions through regular services and ceremonies in the Indautxu neighborhood.

Located at Simón Bolívar Street 4, next to Indautxu Square, the church welcomes visitors daily from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The current structure, completed in 1968, combines expressionism and brutalism in its L-shaped layout, incorporating two distinct blocks for various parish functions.
