Faro de Illa Pancha

Faro de Illa Pancha is a red and white striped lighthouse located on a small island off the coast of Ribadeo. A concrete bridge connects the island to the mainland at the mouth of the Eo River, allowing pedestrian access to the structure.

The lighthouse was built in 1864 and immediately began guiding vessels safely into Ribadeo harbor. It has served as a crucial navigation aid for maritime traffic passing through this coastal region for more than a century and a half.

The lighthouse serves as a recognizable landmark for pilgrims walking the Northern Route to Santiago de Compostela, who stop here during their journey. Visitors pause at this location to take in the coastal views and reflect on the surrounding seascape.
