Mas del Vent, Fortified house in Palamós, Spain.
Mas del Vent is a fortified farmhouse in Palamós with stone walls, wooden beams, and ceramic floors situated at an elevation of about 35 meters. The complex features a defensive tower and incorporates contemporary architectural elements added during its restoration from 2003 to 2010.
The estate was originally known as Mas Brugarol in 1421 and belonged to the territory controlled by the Castle of Sant Esteve. Major restoration work reshaped the property by integrating modernized spaces with its historic structures.
The property contains a Romanesque cloister from the old cathedral of Salamanca, transferred to the estate in 1959 after its discovery in Madrid.
Visitors can explore the grounds, which feature gardens, the defensive tower, and renovated interiors that are accessible for viewing. The hilltop location means visitors should be prepared for stairs and level changes throughout the site.
The estate operates a regenerative farming system, producing local vegetables for its restaurants while participating in the Muga Valley Watershed Project.
