Mare de Déu de la Bonanova, Renaissance Revival church in Sant Gervasi-la Bonanova, Spain.
The Mare de Déu de la Bonanova is a Renaissance Revival church built in Barcelona between 1942 and 1962. Its interior features three naves separated by rounded arches and Corinthian columns, with a front portico accessed by grand stairs.
An original chapel stood on this site from the 10th century but was destroyed in 1936. The current building was constructed afterward as part of the post-Civil War rebuilding of the neighborhood.
The church serves as a gathering place where worshippers come together regularly for Mass and religious ceremonies. It functions as a spiritual and social center that shapes the community life in the Sant Gervasi district.
The church is located at Plaza de la Bonanova 10-12 in the Sant Gervasi neighborhood and is easy to find. Visitors can attend regular Mass services throughout the week or explore the interior freely at most times.
Inside there is a mosaic depicting the Last Supper created by local artists in an adjacent chapel. This artistic detail reflects the work of regional craftspeople who contributed to the church's decoration after its reconstruction.
