Capilla del Santísimo, Catedral de Palma, Gothic chapel in Palma Cathedral, Spain
The chapel contains a polychrome ceramic mural spanning 300 square meters, featuring marine life and biblical elements across its architectural walls.
Between 2001 and 2006, artist Miquel Barceló transformed this traditional Gothic chapel with contemporary art installations representing Mediterranean influences.
The central wall displays a human-shaped mold symbolizing Christ's resurrection, surrounded by detailed reliefs of fish, octopuses, and bread.
Visitors can explore the chapel during cathedral opening hours and join guided tours to learn about the artistic transformation and religious symbolism.
Five 12-meter-high stained glass windows with grisaille tones illuminate the liturgical furniture made from local Binissalem stone.
