Cala de Giverola

Cala de Giverola is a sandy beach along the Costa Brava near Tossa de Mar, stretching about 175 meters along the shoreline and framed by steep rock walls and Mediterranean pine forests. The water is calm and inviting, while the golden sand stands out against the dark rocks rising up behind it.

The beach became a draw for visitors in the early 1900s as Tossa de Mar began to grow and the coast was discovered as a retreat. This development left a lasting mark on the area and made it a key part of local life.

This beach is a gathering place where local families and visitors spend their days swimming and relaxing together. The small coves around Tossa de Mar have long served as refuge for coastal communities, and that maritime connection still shapes how people use these waters.

The beach has sunbeds, showers, and toilets for a comfortable visit, with parking available nearby. It is best to visit early in the morning or late afternoon when it is less crowded and the light is especially nice.

On the eastern side there is a natural rock tunnel that leads to a neighboring cove, allowing visitors to explore the area in an unexpected way. Many visitors miss this hidden passage even though it reveals an interesting section of the coastline.
