Cala Bona

Cala Bona is a small coastal cove in Tossa de Mar with a mix of golden sand and rocky surfaces. The inlet sits deeply recessed into the shoreline, creating a sheltered spot along the Mediterranean.

The cove has served for centuries as a mooring spot for local fishing boats along the Mediterranean shore. Its natural shape has remained largely unchanged through time.

Local fishermen moor traditional boats here, keeping alive the maritime way of life that has shaped the Costa Brava coast. This working use of the cove gives it an authentic, lived-in quality.

You can reach this cove by walking along the coastal path from Tossa de Mar or taking the GI-682 road followed by a steep descent. Wear comfortable shoes since the path on foot can be challenging in places.

The cove's deep recess into the shoreline acts as a natural shield, keeping water temperatures comfortable for swimming throughout the summer season. This natural shelter sets it apart from more exposed beaches with stronger wave patterns.
