Platja de Guillola

Platja de Guillola is a small cove on the Mediterranean coast near Cadaqués with a mixture of pebbles and coarse sand. The water here is typically shallow and calm, making it a sheltered spot along the shoreline.

The beach gained its current importance in the 1980s when local authorities established designated anchoring zones for small boats. These measures turned it into an important sheltering spot for vessels in the area.

The olive groves and vineyards nearby show traditional farming methods that locals have practiced for generations in this part of the Costa Brava.

The beach can be reached from Cadaqués by following the road toward the Cap de Creus lighthouse, with parking available nearby. The terrain is hilly, so wearing proper footwear and allowing time for the walk is recommended.

The southeastern exposure creates natural protection that shields boats from winter storms. This is why the calm waters serve as a favored anchoring spot for sailors seeking shelter.
