La Ribera

La Ribera is a sandy beach along Palma's Mediterranean coast with light-colored sand and gently sloping shores. It offers plenty of space and forms part of the larger bathing area called Platja de l'Arenal.

The beach developed from a simple coastal area into a modern bathing destination beginning in the 1960s. This transformation reflects the growing importance of tourism to Palma.

The beach hosts water sports events and local gatherings where residents and visitors come together throughout the year. It is favored by families because the shallow water and calm conditions invite children and adults to swim and play.

The beach is well equipped with loungers, umbrellas, and restaurants right by the water. The gentle slope of the shore makes it easy to enter the water and try different water sports like paddleboarding.

The beach's location allows visitors to see both sunrise and sunset from the same spot, which is unusual for this coast. This special orientation makes it stand out from the typical southeast-facing beaches nearby.
