Areacova

Areacova is a narrow stretch of white sand beach in Cangas, Galicia, measuring about 250 meters long and 20 meters wide. The waters of the Ría de Aldán frame the shore with calm, blue waves.

The beach received environmental certification in the early years of coastal tourism development in Galicia. This recognition marked the start of conservation efforts along this particular shore.

The cove remains a working space where local fishers maintain traditional practices that shape Galician maritime life. You can observe how the community keeps these customs alive through daily interactions with the water and shore.

The beach is accessible via the PO-551 road with an unguarded parking area of about 50 spaces nearby. Public transportation stops are within a few kilometers, making the site easy to reach.

Even during summer months, the beach remains relatively uncrowded, offering plenty of space for visitors. This quiet character makes it suited for volleyball and water activities without feeling packed.
