Cala del Palangre

Cala del Palangre is a small cove in Torrevieja that combines rocky outcrops with sandy stretches along its roughly 50 meter length and 5 meter width. The rocky areas alternate with sections of golden sand, creating a varied shoreline.

This spot served as an anchor point for fishing boats throughout the 20th century, with vessels arriving in the mornings to work their catches. The location's ties to this fishing tradition shaped its character over many decades.

Neighbors gather here throughout summer to watch the sunset and spend time by the water together. The social rhythm of the cove reflects how locals use the coast for everyday moments beyond swimming.

The cove has showers, restrooms, and parking available within easy walking distance from the sand. Watch for uneven rocky sections when entering the water, as they can be slippery when wet.

At low tide, rocky pools form along the shore that act as natural swimming basins, especially welcoming for children to explore safely. These shallow water pockets offer a gentle entry into the sea without currents.
