Vallcarca bridge, Iron-reinforced concrete viaduct in Gràcia district, Spain

The Vallcarca bridge connects two elevated areas across a former gulley, featuring decorative elements including four groups of winged lions with Catalonian shields.

Completed in 1923, this engineering project by architect Miquel Pasqual Tintorer transformed the region from isolated summer residences into an integrated urban neighborhood.

The structure exhibits both Art Nouveau pinnacles and Art Deco panels, reflecting the architectural styles prevalent during its construction period in Barcelona.

Located at C Gomis 2, the viaduct serves as a crucial transport link between the Coll and Putxet hills, accommodating both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Two semi-circular balconies interrupt the continuous railing structure, providing observation points toward Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea from an elevated position.

Location: Gràcia

Architects: Miquel Pasqual Tintorer, Eduard Ferrés i Puig, Lluís Homs i Moncusí
