Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa de la Anunciación en Barcelona, Russian Orthodox church in Vallcarca i els Penitents, Barcelona, Spain

The Russian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation is a church building in Barcelona with a distinctive golden dome and an interior decorated with numerous religious icons. The structure accommodates around 300 people and serves as a religious center for the Orthodox community.

The building was originally constructed in 1910 as a Catholic chapel before being damaged by fire during the Spanish Civil War. The space was later restored and converted into an Orthodox church in 2012.

Inside, the iconostasis displays traditional Orthodox religious imagery that catches visitors' attention upon entry. The interior decoration combines Eastern Christian artistic traditions with local Barcelona elements.

The church is located in the Vallcarca i els Penitents area on Mare de Déu dels Reis Street. Visitors should be aware that the space is primarily used by Orthodox community members, so respectful behavior and appropriate clothing are important.

Inside, there is a notable Orthodox representation of Saint Eulalia, a patron saint of Barcelona, created according to Eastern Christian artistic guidelines. This was a novelty in Orthodox iconography since this holy figure is not typically depicted following Eastern traditions.
