Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa de la Anunciación en Barcelona, Russian Orthodox church in Vallcarca i els Penitents, Barcelona, Spain
The Russian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation features a golden dome and contains numerous religious icons within its decorated interior walls.
Originally built in 1910 as a Catholic chapel, the building underwent transformation after a fire during the Spanish Civil War and became Orthodox in 2012.
The iconostasis includes representations of Saint George and Saint Eulalia, combining Russian Orthodox traditions with local Barcelona patronage.
Located on Mare de Déu dels Reis Street, the church holds religious services for up to 300 people from the Russian Orthodox community.
The church contains the first Orthodox representation of Saint Eulalia, created according to traditional Eastern Christian artistic guidelines.
