Cartuja de Talamanca

The complex features agricultural buildings, including a central structure with a cloister, chapel, winery, stables, and multiple auxiliary constructions dating from the 16th century.

Construction of La Cartuja began in the 16th century under the Carthusian Order from El Paular Monastery, with major renovations completed in 1703 under Fray Juan de Aguilar.

The chapel contains religious mural paintings, while the architecture displays traditional masonry techniques with brick buttresses and ceramic lintels reflecting regional building methods.

The complex, located at Calle Viento 2 in Talamanca de Jarama, has undergone extensive restoration work to preserve its original structural elements and historical features.

Recent georadar surveys revealed underground archaeological remains indicating additional historical structures beneath the current buildings of La Cartuja.
