Villalonso Castle, Medieval castle in Villalonso, Spain.
The castle features four corner towers, a central keep on the north wall, and solid stone walls built in a square formation.
During the late 15th century wars, the castle provided shelter to the Count of Marialba after his retreat from the nearby town of Toro.
The castle represents the architectural style of the Valladolid School, which influenced many fortifications across northern Spain during the 15th century.
The Cueto-Vallejo family, who acquired the castle in 1984, offers guided tours and hosts wedding ceremonies within the restored medieval structure.
Archaeological excavations at the castle revealed 15th and 16th-century kitchen items that document the dietary habits of medieval castle inhabitants.
