St. George's Anglican Church

St. George's is a church building in Recoletos featuring Neo-Mudéjar and Romanesque Revival architectural details with a single nave, transept, and polygonal chancel. A Mudéjar-style tower rises beside the sacristy, while a garden separates the structure from the street.

The current building was completed in 1923 and consecrated in 1925, replacing earlier worship spaces that included a converted carriage house of the British Embassy. Its construction reflects the growing need for English speakers to have their own place of worship in the city.

The stained glass windows fill the interior with colored light and depict religious figures that draw the eye upward. These artworks reflect the spiritual traditions that visitors experience when walking through the space.
