Sandels culture house, Cultural center in Taka-Töölö, Helsinki, Finland.
This five-story modern building features open architectural design with expansive glass surfaces, housing a youth center, music school, secondary school and high school under one comprehensive roof.
Designed by architects Juha Leiviskä and Rosemarie Schnitzler, the building was completed in 2007 as part of the urban development of Töölöntori square's western edge.
The center serves as a meeting place for different age groups, combining Swedish-language education with diverse cultural programming including concerts, exhibitions, workshops and community events throughout the year.
The ground floor contains youth gathering spaces, café areas and event venues that open toward the square, while the underground Gyllenberg concert hall seats 245 people for musical performances.
The building incorporates natural rock surfaces from the excavated foundation into the concert hall's interior design, creating a distinctive connection between the urban structure and Helsinki's geological bedrock.
