Hallinportti Aviation Museum, Aviation museum in Halli, Finland.
Hallinportti Aviation Museum is an aircraft collection housed in a hangar of about 756 square meters in Jämsä, displaying around 10 different aircraft types. The collection includes Soviet training fighters like the MiG-15 UTI, British biplanes like the Bristol Bulldog IV, and Finnish-designed models.
The museum started in 1968 as an exhibition from an Air Force technical school in Kauhava and moved to Halli in 1971. It has since developed into a collection that documents different phases of aircraft development.
The museum displays aircraft from different countries and periods that together tell the story of aviation in Northern Europe. Visitors can see how different designs were created and what role flying held for the region.
The museum is located in Halli near Jämsä and is easy to reach by car. The best time to visit is from June to July when the hangar is open.
The museum preserves rare Finnish aircraft like the IVL D.26 Haukka II that are not seen anywhere else. These machines show how Finland developed its own planes during the war years.
