Korteniemen perinnetila, Forester's lodge in Liesjärvi National Park, Finland
Korteniemi is a forester's lodge in Liesjärvi National Park consisting of buildings from the 1880s. The main house contains a living room, bedroom, and entrance hall, all preserved in their original form.
The property was purchased by the Forest Service in 1878 and served as a base for forest management. The last person to live there was Kalle Lönngrén, who managed the holding until his retirement.
The name reflects the family who worked as foresters here for generations. Visitors can observe how the buildings and land were used and what role this holding played in the local community.
The property opens from May through September with guided tours Thursday through Sunday. During summer months, visitors can come between 11:00 and 17:00 to explore the holding with a guide.
The holding houses traditional Finnish farm animals, including native chicken breeds, sheep, and cows. Visitors can participate in daily animal care tasks and gain direct experience with the work involved.
