Château de Montjalin, Historical castle in Sauvigny-le-Bois, France

Château de Montjalin stands at the highest point of the region and features protected stone facades with historical roofing. The protected elements also include the enclosure wall, the former water defenses, and the entrance gates of the estate.

The site was originally known as Monte-Jalen in the 12th century and held a fortified manor with water defenses. Before the French Revolution, it was substantially rebuilt by César de Fresne and acquired its present form.

The castle's coat of arms displays symbols of Denise Michaud de la Tour and marks an important marriage between two noble families. These emblems were visible to visitors and showed the family's connections.

The site sits on an elevated position with views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors should note that many historical elements are protected and require respectful handling.

From 2000 to 2010, the castle housed a notable collection of presidential vehicles gathered by Olivier Delafon. This collection was later sold at an auction in 2011 and found new owners.
