Château de Montjalin, Historical castle in Sauvigny-le-Bois, France
Château de Montjalin stands at the highest point of the region at 310 meters altitude, featuring protected stone facades and historical roofing elements.
Originally named Monte-Jalen in the 12th century, the site contained a moated manor before its reconstruction by César de Fresne prior to the French Revolution.
The castle's pediment displays the coat of arms of Denise Michaud de la Tour, marking the marriage alliance between two prominent noble families.
The protected elements include the castle's facades, roofs, enclosure wall, ha-ha, and gates, all registered as historical monuments since May 20, 1988.
Until 2010, the castle housed a collection of presidential vehicles, gathered by Olivier Delafon and later dispersed through an auction in February 2011.
